We recently resigned our lease after hemming and hawing and it inspired me to put a bit more effort into designing the space (something I’d be avoiding when I was unsure where we’d end up) so buckle up for a bunch of homegoods links!
I just upgraded out functional but eh bathmat to this one I’ve been eyeing from Quiet Town for what feels like EVER. Yes it’s a not cheap for a bath mat but I hate our bathroom (ours is not the one pictured lol) and it needed some major zhushing plus it’s a small husband wife design duo formerly of Brooklyn so I feel great about supporting local artists when I can!
I have loved these Teebooks shelves for over a year but they were pricier than I felt comfy spending while planning a wedding since I wanted a bunch. As luck would have it I stumbled upon this Amazon dupe that comes in singles or sets of 2, 3, 4, or 9 for a laughable fraction of the price. I rationalized my honeymoon bathing suit purchases with the money I saved— it’s called being fiscally responsible, heard of it?
I shared these on my stories a while back but I also have been loving these few wellnessy items that made my WFH set up more tolerable. Firstly, after 2+ years of working at the kitchen island or sitting on the floor at my coffee table I invested in a standing desk! Don’t knock floor sitting for focus, but there’s something to be said about a curated area for work! I got this mine from Fezibo and found what I think to be the same exact one from Amazon here too and if you want to spend more $ I had my eye on this good looking one from Branch Furniture too (but why spend more if you don’t have to? Buy more bathing suits instead!!)
This is this stability cushion I use both to stand on when my desk is standing to fidget on and support my feet, to sit on to remind me to stay active in my core when I’m sitting, AND with my private clients to amplify the core stability challenge of exercises like lunges etc.
While my desk is in the seated position and I’m seated on aforementioned cushion, I use these bike pedals to channel my fidgety energy. I really wanted an under desk treadmill like this but this spatial footprint is much better and can be shoved in a closet when I don’t want to look at it.
Speaking of throwing away $— I haven’t pulled the trigger on this but have heard from multiple sources now that this is an excellent ($225) dupe for the $1,500 (🤯) BioMat which has me intrigued. I just did a purge of superfluous equipment in my home studio, so I’m going to restrain myself for now, but let me know if you go for it and what you think!
Summer may be drawing to a close but sunscreen is an all year thing babes— I have played around with Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen and Elta MD but I always return to this one.
I have been experimenting with eating more protein after listening to the Wellness Fact or Fiction podcast episode on protein and I’m loving the Four Sigmatic peanut butter protein. After choking down the Moon Juice Blue Beauty protein powder so as not to waste it, which was absolutely disgusting (and outrageously overpriced, but hey, the bottle was beautiful) I was pleasantly surprised at how drinkable it is all on it’s own with just water. Disclaimer: there’s a reason mindful nutrition is the last step of intuitive eating, so, I do NOT recommend tracking macros if you’re trying to heal your relationship with food still. I firmly believe apps like MyFitnessPal encourage disordered eating. Personally, I’m using this information about protein as a way to add in foods to support my active lifestyle, not to restrict or calculate obsessively.

Wellness has become so performative, it’s hard to not catch yourself trying to look pretty while working out. Loved this piece about releasing the desire to look hot during your workout and to actually give it your all.
Overjoyed to see a publication like InStyle claiming that Bikini bodies are out.
…and continually disappointed that body types can even be trendy but really enjoyed this article diving into the never-ending cycle of unrealistic body standards.
Really moved by this Vogue piece on enjoying your body as it is despite external opinions.
…aaaand this piece in The Cut about when you can’t stop thinking about external opinions about your body.
Loved this episode of Maintenance Phase debunking the myth that “French women don’t get fat”.
Not *technically* wellness related but I binged Book Lovers in 48 hours and it was V good for my mental health.
