HPS Weekly 021
the January program, dopamine, and leopard print
Ciao ciao and welcome back to HPS Weekly, where I share this week’s class schedule on Helen Phelan Studio, an assortment of wellness and wellness adjacent articles, videos, and products I’m into lately. A few announcements off the bat:
HPS FORMAT, the signature HPS mat class you get on-demand, launches at my favorite dance studio in the city this Wednesday (and every Wednesday) 5:30pm at Good Move in Williamsburg, Brooklyn!
HPS REFORM, the full body reformer semi-private sister of FORMAT begins at Casa Cipriani Monday, Jan 12th at 6pm ongoing. This class is for Casa Cipriani members only for now, but stay tuned because that may change.

If you’re new to my Substack, hi!
My whole schtick is intuitive movement is a springboard for creativity, a necessity for mental health, and the most effective way I know to practice embodiment and mindfulness. The Well Hell Substack is a place for me to word vomit all my thoughts on well-being, body image, psychology, creativity, diet culture, and movement as medicine based on my 12 years of experiencing teaching boutique fitness in NYC. I rant about things I hate about the wellness industry, share products I’m loving, articles/books that made me think, and anything else I just want to wax poetically into the void about.
Shameless request for you to like these posts after you read them— it’s free, takes zero seconds, and helps the publication get way better reach! Save it, send to a friend, restack it. You get it. LOVE YOU.
Curiosity piqued?
Follow me on IG and TikTok—I share tutorials, technique breakdowns, flow inspiration, visual meditations, fitness fashion that hopefully doesn’t suck, astrological moodboards, and life in Brooklyn.

Love the way this curates wellness across so many touchpoints, physical routines, dopamine mangement, and even product aesthetics. That "Broke Girl's Guide to Dopamine" piece gets at something most fitness content misses: the neurochemical scaffolding behind why we stick with or bail on movement practices. I've found when I treated my mat sessions as dopamine design (not jst calorie burn), consistency became way easier.
Thank you for sharing! x
