I grew up very much a reader, and somewhere along the way in my early 20s, I stopped reading for fun.
I read constantly for my work, for education, to be productive…I soaked up books on intuitive eating and debunking diet culture, I spent a lot of time reading about anatomy and nutrition and biomechanics...fascinating stuff…but didn’t really inspire my creativity, and also kinda burned me out on so many of the things I’m professionally passionate about.
In order to reignite my love of reading, I set a no self-help or wellness/work related book rule for myself this year (I cheated by reading about 8,000 Substacks on those topics, but at least those were quicker reads) and told myself I’d try my darndest to read ~2 books a month. In celebration of becoming a reader again, and because I got myself to get off my phone by telling myself I had to make this list for you, here’s Fair warning there is zero through line in this list and it’s a real peep into the ADHD chaos pit of my brain!
