Welcome to Well Hell, where movement, mindfulness, and muse make out
Hiiiiii, I’m Helen!
If you’re looking for an artful movement practice blending contemporary mat pilates, bodyweight strength training, fascia flossing, functional breath technique, and somatic release, check out the 10-day free trial to my on-demand intuitive movement studio!
I am technically a fitness instructor, but I hate the fitness industry.
I’ve been teaching movement in NYC for 13 years and and am the founder of Women’s Health Magazine FitTech Award winning online pilates platform, Helen Phelan Studio.
I’m more interested in helping women who feel burned out by fitness culture shift their relationship with their bodies and feel stronger, more grounded, more powerful, more creative, and more themselves than I am “long, lean lines”.
As seen in:
Here’s where you should start if you wanna understand the HPS approach to movement:
..,and if you’re healing your relationship with your body and exercise itself:
…or you’re interested in creativity & writing:
…and if you’re looking for a pilates technique deep dive:
“I cannot express how much I love HPS and Well Hell. Your approach to fitness is everything, my mind and body are so much healthier as a result. Thank you, truly” — Violet, paid subscriber
What to expect as a paid subscriber:
long form essays on wellness culture, intuitive exercise, distancing yourself from diet culture, body image, embodiment, creative practices, and identity
round ups of articles, products, and culture I’m consuming (and criticizing) lately
my wellness little black book of holistic practitioners who are actually legit
access to weekly HPS Zoom classes
first access to sign up for exclusive courses, events, workshops, and retreats
If you have a sec, I’d love it if you dropped into the comments and introduce yourself and let me know if there’s anything about the wellness industry you’re dying to read about? One of the drawbacks of teaching online is that y’all see me but I don’t get to know you! So, drop me a line, I read every single email and it helps me with inspo for future posts!
xx,
Helen
