Cult of wellness | It's really not that complicated
TLD; most companies care more about profit than your actual wellbeing and therein lies the wellness paradox

One of the biggest problems we have as wellness consumers is that we’re too obsessed with extraneous details and not focused enough on the pillars of well being.
It could be argued that we are obsessed with extraneous details because the wellness industry keeps inventing new problems we need to solve (skin barrier restoration products in response to overusing chemical exfoliants, anyone? Tangential rant: as much as I loveeee a GRWM video or a new product recc, I have a full body reaction when people tout BEAUTY products as WELLNESS.
Do I think beauty is inherently evil and unhealthy? No. Do I think it has shadow elements that are unequivocally harmful to our mental and sometimes even physical health? Yes.
